Antique Victorian Mercury Glass Christmas Ornament Blue Rattle

Wow! You do not run across these every day. A fantastic Victoria era blue mercury glass Christmas tree ornament in the shape of a baby rattle in very good condition. Very few of these were made with any type of actual "rattle" inside due to the glass being so thin and fragile. This particular one does not have a "rattle" inside. 

• no chips or cracks
• only mild mercury loss and darkening noted to the top of the neck
• only mild paint fading/loss
• measures 4 3/4" tall by 1 3/4" wide
• original unmarked metal cap still intact
• most likely German in origin
• circa late 1800's to early 1900's
